THE INTERNATIONAL

Louis believes that the International Bank of Business and Credit (IBBC) has a connection with a series of crimes that occur worldwide. He guessed at the Luxembourg-based bank that was involved in weapons trafficking, money laundering, and the authority to determine who will become leaders in a country. With the help of an attorney in New York named Eleanor Whitman (Naomi Watts), Louis began to trace this IBBC crime.

These adventures bring Louis around the world ranging from New York, Germany, France to Italy only to hunt Wexler Wilhelm (Armin Mueller-Stahl), CEO IBBC, which is responsible for all the illegal operations of this bank was the cause of death as well as colleagues Louis. The International

THE INTERNATIONAL may be referred to as the 'other side' of the thriller from Bourne or Bond. Many scenes shootout and chase with the backdrop for famous cities around the world but with a hero figure who is more 'human'. That is, Tom Tykwer, the director, did not make the main character of this being a 'superhuman' who could do anything, but rather as a man who tried hard to realize what he believed.

Taking pictures because there is practically perfect impression of 'tiring' representative from the camera tricks to depict the hunt around the world. Regale backdrop for several important locations such as the Guggenheim Museum in New York is also used effectively and there is no impression that these locations only a patch in the overall fabric of the story.

THE INTERNATIONAL

Unfortunately it was a wonderful story to end here because there are some gaps in terms of script writing. Character of some main character does not seem to get enough so that development could not attract the sympathy of an audience. Finally the impression that emerges is: they exist and move according to the needs of the script and instead become one in the script. Perhaps the idea of this story is too large to be packed in a film format in less than two hours duration.

Because the script is not adequate, then inevitably it is a victim is Clive Owen and Naomi Watts. They could not do much to make the characters they Play becomes so real. Yet with all its limitations, the actors and actresses are still capable of acting fairly well.
